Guan’ao won the Interdisciplinary Opportunity Award at the UCI Center for Multiscale Cell Fate
In collaboration with Chaorong Chen in Dr. Wei Li’s lab at UCI, Guan’ao won the 2022-2023 Interdisciplinary Opportunity Award at the UCI Center for Multiscale Cell Fate. The project title is “Joint inference of cell temporal states and underlying gene-gene associations from gene expression space.” Congratulations!
Chihao’s ITCA paper was published in Journal of Machine Learning Research
Chihao, a former visiting Ph.D. student from Dr. Shihua Zhang’s lab, developed the information-theoretic classification accuracy (ITCA), a criterion to guide the combination of ambiguous outcome labels by balancing the prediction accuracy and the outcome resolution. The work was published in the Journal of Machine Learning Research. Congratulations!
Heather’s paper about PCA vs. other hidden variable inference methods in QTL mapping was published in Genome Biology
Thanks to the collaboration with Dr. Wei Li’s lab at UC Irvine, Heather wrote this article to compare PCA with SVA, PEER, and HCP for hidden variable inference in molecular QTL mapping. The conclusion is that PCA outperforms the three other methods. The work was published in Genome Biology. Congratulations!
